While we're speaking of big power, we'd like to say every diesel can use some improvement. Whether it's a Duramax diesel engine or any other, improved drive ability is always welcome. Gillett brings customers together with the technology that improves gas mileage and monitoring capabilities. The Edge Juice with Attitude will provide all that. It is a plug-in installation complete with connections. This is Edge's top-of-the-line device and you know it's quality if it's from Edge diesel products. You also know the service is quality if it's offered to you by Gillett.
The design is by Isuzu and the motor is produced by a joint venture between that company and General Motors. It replaced the previous Detroit 6.2 L and 6.5 L block. The LG5 is an in-line 6 cylinder 7.8 L running in more than 300,000 trucks manufactured by GM and Isuzu. The LB7 was introduced in 2001 with a V8, 6.6 L engine. The machine was named to Wards 10 best engines list in 2001 and 2002. The LLY debuted in 2004 with a 32 valve design. The Duramax diesel engine sports 310 hp at 3100 rpm and 605 lb/ft torque at the low 1800 rpm. It had a new Garrett turbocharger with variable geometry vane system.
The most recent introduction is the LMM which is identical to the LBZ but meets EPA standards that the previous models could not. It boasts a 6.6 V8 with diesel fuel injection and a turbo charged motor with 365 hp and 660 lb/feet torque at 1600 rpm. They are getting even more powerful but can still use some juice with attitude.
GM is planning a smaller 4.5 L for lighter trucks, but it will not be a joint venture with Isuzu.
Monitoring power was an unheard of thought not too long ago. Now we have products which can tune your engine as you drive. Edge diesel technology provides safety and efficiency especially when hauling bug loads.
