The GDS Ported Shroud Compressor Housing is designed to increase your turbo life by eliminating the damaging effect of compressor surge. When performance products are added to increase horsepower, the compressor wheel accelerates faster and compressor surge and flutter becomes more apparent and damaging. Our Compressor Housing is designed with a 4" intake and exclusive inducer bleed ring. This results in a 13% increase in choke flow allowing more air into the compressor wheel, and the inducer bleed broadens the range of the compressor wheel, smoothes out air flow, and eliminate turbo compressor surge.

No more surging!

This compressor housing completely eliminated the surging problem I was having when pulling heavy loads (8500#) with the stock turbo. Boost pressure runs 5 psi lower at full throttle with no noticeable loss of power. There is a big increase in turbo whistle with this housing and it is easy to install (about 90 minutes). The instructions are well written and the fit and finish of this casting is very good. If you cant afford to upgrade the turbo or you don't want to, this housing is a good choice. If you have a surging problem this housing is the cure. By the way, I did not change the compressor wheel, just the housing.
