The 1994 Cummins Diesel/Dodge Ram was a 160 hp auto trans. Or 175 hp manual trans. engine that is air-to-air charge air cooled, the compressor housing has a v-band outlet and a 4” compressor inlet.
These trucks are equipped stock with a wastegated WH1C turbo with the standard 70mm dia (60mm exducer) turbine wheel, a 12cm2 wastegated turbine housing and a 56mm inducer compressor wheel. This year the turbo was unique in that it was a H1 rather than a HX model turbo, but the wheel sizes were the same as 95 and later 12 valve trucks. Before ordering compressor housing and wheel upgrades from this page, check the tag on your turbocharger to make sure that it has not been updated to an HX35 turbo (used as replacements). If it has been updated, order parts listed for the 95-98 turbo!
On these applications most people want a larger compressor wheel and housing for more air flow and a stock or larger turbine housing for less restriction, lower exhaust gas temperatures and more top end power (the stock housing works great on stock trucks but becomes too restrictive by about 275hp)

NOTE: ON 1998.5 24 VALVE TRUCKS THE COMPRESSOR WHEEL SIZE WAS REDUCED FROM A 56MM INDUCER TO A 54MM INDUCER COMPRESSOR WHEEL WITH A SMALLER MAJOR DIAMETER. THIS REQUIRES CUTTING THE BEARING HOUSING TO ACCOMIDATE ALL OF THE COMPRESSOR HOUSING AND WHEEL COMBINATIONS LISTED BELOW!
