The 2004.5-2007, 5.9L 24 valve HPCR ISB Cummins Diesel/Dodge Ram was a 325 hp engine that is air-to-air charge air cooled and has unique turbine and compressor housing designs that are only interchangable with 03-04.5 previous year trucks.
These trucks were equipped stock with a wastegated HE35CW turbo with a smaller turbine wheel (like the 03-04.5), a 9cm2 wastegated turbine housing and a new generation 60mm inducer large base, "super 40" compressor wheel. This turbo was also the first Dodge fitted with an electronic "command valve" for ECM management of the wastegate function. For these applications we recommend a complete turbo changeout.
On these applications most people want a stronger turbo with a larger turbine housing for less restriction, lower exhaust gas temperatures and more top end.
